4-hr FAST BOARD WATER OPS

Prerequisite: Basic FAST Board Operations (BFBO), which may be combined with this course as an 8-hour session.

This course is designed for those who have purchased the FAST Flotation Ring (FFR) and intend to use it in conjunction with the FAST Board for water rescue operations. The training will be customized to align with your agency’s capabilities and certification requirements for water rescue. This session is ideally conducted poolside, where our instructors can demonstrate various shore-based and boat-based rescue procedures.

As with all FAST Board training, a brief review of the Board and loading procedures will be conducted to ensure familiarity before diving into water-specific techniques. In this course, students will learn the following:

• Basic water rescue communication and safety protocols
• How to load a victim onto the FAST Board with the FFR while both the rescuer and victim are in the water
• How to deploy and retrieve the FAST Board with FFR in shore-based rescue scenarios
• How to transition the FAST Board from the water to a rescue craft
• Integrating resuscitation techniques while using the FAST Board with FFR

With a 10:1 instructor-to-student ratio, each participant will receive personalized, hands-on instruction to ensure proficiency in these critical water rescue techniques. Upon successful completion, each student will receive a certificate of completion, recognizing their competence in performing water rescues using the FAST Board and FFR.
